On the Third Law of Black Hole Dynamics
نویسنده
چکیده
The third law of black hole dynamics states that the surface gravity (temperature) of black hole cannot be reduced to zero in finite sequence of physical interactions. We argue that the same is true when surface gravity is replaced by gravitational charge. We demonstrate that the prescribed window for infalling energy and radiation pinches off as extremality (M = a + Q) is approached. PACS numbers : 04.20.Cv, 97.60.Lf

Organizational Black Hole Theory
There are issues in organizations that require new theoretical formulation. Hence, metaphorical theorizing is used in the study of organizations to interpret them and understand their complexities. In this method, the organization is likened to an entity and one of the key features of that entity is generalized to the organization. It should be borne in mind that most organizational theories ar...
متن کاملExtremal black holes and the limits of the third law
Recent results of quantum field theory on a curved spacetime suggest that extremal black holes are not thermal objects and that the notion of zero temperature is ill-defined for them. If this is correct, one may have to go to a full semiclassical theory of gravity, including backreaction, in order to make sense of the third law of black hole thermodynamics. Alternatively it is possible that we ...
متن کاملBlack Holes and the Third Law of Thermodynamics
We discuss here in the framework of black hole thermodynamics some aspects relative to the third law in the case of black holes of the Kerr-Newman family. By means of thermodynamic arguments we show that a discontinuity in the thermodynamic manifold between extremal black holes and non-extremal ones should occur. In particular, arguments which strengthen the idea that the Bekenstein-Hawking law...
متن کاملDoes the third law of black hole thermodynamics really have a serious failure?
The almost perfect correspondence between certain laws of classical black hole mechanics and the ordinary laws of thermodynamics is spoiled by the failure of the conventional back hole analogue of the third law. Our aim here is to contribute to the associated discussion by flashing light on some simple facts of black hole physics. However, no attempt is made to lay to rest the corresponding lon...
متن کاملViolation of the Third Law of Black Hole Thermodynamics inHigher Curvature Gravity
We examine the weak version of the third law of black hole thermodynamics in the n-dimensional Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet system with a negative cosmological constant. To see whether the extreme black hole solution with zero temperature is formed, we investigate the motion of the thin shell that has the equal mass to the extreme black hole in the background described by the non-GR branch solutions. ...
